Before You Travel

What's included

Four nights of lodging, three days of guided hunting and daily home-cooked meals on the 3 Day, 4 Night package. Linens and towels furnished, laundry on site, gear garages at both lodges.

What to bring

Shotgun and shells, waders, warm layers, blind bag, and your Kansas license and stamps. Personal items only — linens and towels are handled.

Licensing

A valid Kansas hunting license and applicable state and federal stamps are required for all guests. We will walk you through exactly what you need before you travel.

Meals

Home-cooked meals are provided daily throughout your stay. Full kitchens at both lodges if your group wants to cook.

Weather & season

Guided hunts run November through the end of January. Kansas winters are real — bring layers, and plan for cold water and cold fields.

Getting here

We are based in Grenola, Southeast Kansas. Brian or Joey will be in direct contact with your group before the hunt to confirm timing and the meeting point.

Frequently asked

Fully guided waterfowl hunts run from November through the end of January. Birds pile in through the fall and stay with us into late winter, so there is never a bad time to hunt with us.
Predominantly mallards and greater Canada geese. Depending on conditions you may also shoot pintails, wigeon, gadwall, teal, woodies, ringneck, redhead, goldeneye, canvasback, snow geese, lessers, specklebellies and cacklers.
Our hunting sets are on a mixture of dry agriculture fields, flooded shallow-water impoundments, potholes, small lakes, and rivers. We scout and hunt wherever the birds want to be — nothing is locked in ahead of time.
The 3 Day, 4 Night package runs 2 to 12 guests. Day hunts are built for 2 to 6 hunters.

Lake Lodge is the main lodge and comfortably houses 12 guests. Cloverdale House sits one mile south and accommodates 10. Both have full kitchens, laundry and two-car garages for gear.
Should you need to cancel your booking, your deposit will be non-refundable. However, you can transfer your deposit to another available date at the discretion of the outfitter. The outfitter will make reasonable efforts to find a suitable alternative date, but rescheduling is not guaranteed and depends on availability.
Contact us for details — it depends on the setup, the group and your dog. We hunt our own finished retrievers on every hunt.
Pups must meet age and health requirements. We recommend starting as early as 8 weeks of age for the Puppy Primer program, and all training programs require a minimum four-month commitment.
Yes, and we encourage it. We invite you to visit regularly during your dog's training program to witness their progress and learn how to effectively handle them.

Deposits & Cancellations

Our policy

Should you need to cancel your booking, your deposit will be non-refundable. However, you can transfer your deposit to another available date at the discretion of the outfitter. The outfitter will make reasonable efforts to find a suitable alternative date, but rescheduling is not guaranteed and depends on availability.
